JB Blunk Continuum
JB Blunk built his house by hand. Carved the bowls his family ate from. Forged the jewelry his partner wore. For Blunk, there was no line between the functional and the sculptural, the everyday and the profound — and that refusal to separate them is what made him singular.
Continuum documents the first European retrospective of his work, mounted at the Fondation d'entreprise Martell in Cognac, France. Never-before-seen photographs and correspondence from the JB Blunk Estate. Rarely-exhibited studio maquettes. Objects that normally live in the Blunk House, now photographed among Cognac's medieval stone — with an exhibition installation by London-based Martino Gamper.
Edited by the JB Blunk Estate and the Fondation d'entreprise Martell. Designed by Kajsa Ståhl of Åbäke. Printed by die Keure in Sweden.
Hardcover. 128 pages. 9" x 12".
One of two books we carry on JB Blunk. The companion monograph traces the full arc of his practice — from apprenticeship with Japanese master potters to his off-grid California life. Together, a complete portrait.

We are lifelong bibliophiles. Shelves filled with books line our studio walls and more are stacked on every surface. We admire their design, scrutinize their typography, fetishize their paper and analyze their binding. We read them for research, for inspiration, for the sheer pleasure of exploring new worlds of thought and experience.
We have curated a selection of books to offer our audience, based on our interests and yours. Most of our books are limited editions or out of print, they are seldom available in the US, and not available on Amazon.
All physical books are final sale: non-refundable and non-exchangeable. (Book & library accessories such as bookstands and book marks are covered by our normal return policy.)
