Considered one of the essential books of the 20th century on the theory of communication, the original 1967 edition was published as The Medium is the Massage, despite the typesetting error. Marshall McLuhan’s philosophy encompasses the world of merchandise, the press, advertising, and the arts. Inside, the overlapping of text and image, as designed by the anarchic Quentin Fiore, becomes a literal reflection of the author’s controversial beliefs that the medium is, as originally expressed, the message. We love this Italian paperback edition with its pure white textured uncoated paper cover debossed with minimalist typography.
