Holiday Cards by Paul Rand
Paul Rand made IBM iconic. He gave UPS its shield, ABC its geometry. Then he made Christmas cards where Santa appears as bowling pins.
These twelve card designs exist outside the corporate legacy. Santa tumbles across compositions in unexpected forms. The humor is visual and direct: geometric reductions, playful transformations, irreverent treatments of a familiar figure. Rand approaches the holiday icon with the same wit he brought to corporate identity, but freed from strategic constraint. Wms&Co. co-founder JP Williams studied under Rand and knew this playful, joyous side of his craft.
The set includes two copies of each design with envelopes, housed in a keepsake box. Cards vary in size, printed on textured paper.
