These slender, elongated ceramic candleholders by Lorraine Grouvel embody a delicate balance between function and sculptural form. Each piece is hand-modeled, resulting in organic textures that evoke natural formations. The raw, tactile surface in a matte off-white finish accentuates their sculptural quality. Varying in height, these candleholders create an interplay of form, light, and shadow whether displayed individually or arranged in groupings.

Grouvel, the Franco-Canadian ceramist behind Apollonie Céramique, began her journey with clay in 2014. Now based in Paris, she crafts exquisite stoneware and porcelain creations that embody a universe of sobering fragility and honest expression. Her work invites contemplation of the relationship between object and space, bringing a touch of Parisian atelier sensibility to each piece.
