Handmade Tampico Desk Brushes

$36.00

Simple yet purposeful, these desk brushes bring utility and natural materials together in everyday cleaning tools. Made from tampico fibers - harvested sustainably from Mexican agave plants - each brush carries inherent qualities that make it remarkably practical. Beyond their aesthetic appeal, these plant-derived fibers offer a durability that synthetic alternatives struggle to match. The fibers maintain their natural stiffness whether used dry or damp, making them versatile companions for various household tasks - from clearing desktop debris to dusting shelves and windowsills.

Small enough to keep within reach, yet versatile enough to justify finding multiple homes throughout your space - perhaps one for the desk, another for the kitchen counter, and a third by the potting bench for plant maintenance.

These brushes are the creation of Jamie Lea Bertsch of Sweven, a New York-based artisan who brings historical crafting techniques into contemporary homes. Working from her Hudson Valley studio, Jamie hand-braids each brush using traditional methods, creating tools that are both beautiful and functional. Sweven, an Old English word meaning "vision" or "dream," reflects her dedication to crafting timeless pieces that bridge past and present.

We are pleased to offer the option of a free handwritten message on one of our signature gold edged notecards. Enter your text in the "Click here to add any order notes or gift messages” box on the first page of checkout. Notecards are only available to certain products; anything shipped from our rubber stamp warehouse is not eligible for a handwritten notecard, but if you enter a message in the box at checkout it will be printed on the packing slip.
These carefully chosen and crafted pieces represent a considered mix of the esoteric and the highly pragmatic. Many of these simple things reflect the hand of the artisan or the quiet genius of the inventor. They are useful in ways that are difficult to quantify but, if pressed, we would say they make life a little more efficient and a lot more beautiful.

We would be great together -
