Yohaku Essential Oils
Two interpretations of Japanese wilderness, distilled through traditional craft.
Monk Tree captures the luminous transitions of dawn, a botanical dialogue between wood and light where bergamot and frankincense awaken the senses before yielding to the herbaceous depth of geranium and hinoki, finally settling into the meditation of cedarwood and sandalwood. Black Mountain distills nocturnal forest essence through cypress and pine, progressing from the initial brightness of hinoki leaf and mandarin through the textural complexity of rose and patchouli, before revealing the mineral warmth of red seaweed and cistus.
Each composition unfolds in measured stages, architectural in structure yet meditative in effect. Crafted in Miyazaki using steam distillation techniques, both represent a cultural approach to natural elements where familiar botanical components achieve distinction through precision and restraint. The oils transform fragrance into a study of time and place—dawn's bright clarity versus forest's deeper resonance, light versus shadow, ascent versus grounding.
Naturally derived Japanese ingredients, housed in recycled glass. 10ml. Not for direct skin application.
