Kikof Tokkuri Vessel
A study in contrasts: the Tokkuri vessel channels centuries of Bizen tradition through a thoroughly modern geometry. Hailing from one of Japan's six oldest kilns, with roots reaching back to the Kamakura period, this piece bridges medieval craft and contemporary form. White gloss glaze meets dark Shigaraki clay in sharp angles that soften only at the rim, where seasonal blooms find their stage. Handcrafted from clay drawn from ancient Lake Biwa deposits, each piece carries the textured warmth of its origins, the slight variations in form a reminder that the potter's hand, not the machine, shaped this. Functional as sake carafe or standalone vase, it transforms the everyday pour into quiet ceremony.
