CW&T M.R. Tape Dispenser

$75.00

Rethinking the humble tape dispenser through pure geometric form. Precision-machined from a single piece of stainless steel, the M.R. transforms a utilitarian object into sculpture—equally compelling wall-mounted as an architectural element or as a commanding presence on your desk.

The elegance lies in the physics: one continuous form creates the ideal dispensing angle, while the mirror-polished contact surface ensures clean, precise tears. It's engineering as poetry, function as form.

A note on use: When wall or desk mounted, the M.R. provides stable one-handed operation. Using it unmounted requires both hands—one to anchor the dispenser, one to dispense the tape.

The M.R. performs beautifully with paper-based tapes like washi and masking tape, where the tension system creates a satisfying dispensing experience.

Optional Magnetic Base: A magnetic mounting base is available as an add-on, allowing you to securely (but not permanently) mount the M.R. to any ferrous surface for one-handed tape dispensing.

Founded by Che-Wei Wang and Taylor Levy, CW&T is a Brooklyn-based design studio operating at the intersection of sculpture and utility. Their practice interrogates everyday objects through an artistic lens, stripping away complexity to reveal essential forms. Each piece is manufactured in small batches with meticulous attention to detail—functional tools as contemplative works.

These carefully chosen and crafted pieces represent a considered mix of the esoteric and the highly pragmatic. Many of these simple things reflect the hand of the artisan or the quiet genius of the inventor. They are useful in ways that are difficult to quantify but, if pressed, we would say they make life a little more efficient and a lot more beautiful.

We would be great together -
