Viva Danish Self Watering Planters
A fine wick runs from a hidden reservoir in the saucer up into the soil, and whatever grows in this terracotta pot drinks exactly as much as it needs. Viva is a Danish self-watering planter from Bergs Potter, shaped from raw Tuscan Galestro clay in grey, with an integrated saucer and a gently narrowed top.
Viva takes its name from the Latin for life. Small houseplants, bulbs and compact herbs with delicate leaves, such as basil and parsley, thrive on this watering from below, with dry foliage and strong roots. The terracotta lets roots breathe, the narrowed top slows evaporation, and plants stay fresh as long as there is water in the saucer. A minimalist pot with an organic, softly classical line.
Bergs Potter has been making terracotta planters since 1942.
