Forest Bathing Incense Set: Waboku by Kousaido
A Japanese incense set that lets you smell three trees one at a time. The Waboku series brings together hinoki, keyaki, and kusunoki, three traditional Japanese woods considered Japan's core forest species, and each one carries the atmosphere of a Japanese forest. Hinoki is smooth and woody. Kusunoki is sweet and calming, with the freshness of a forest. Keyaki has an exotic woodiness all its own.
Each scent is natural, made only from the wood powder of its own tree and enhanced by essential oil from that tree. Together they make a quiet case for forest bathing at home: a forest is a layered smell, and this incense set separates it into three clear notes so each wood can be known on its own.
Kousaido is a Japanese incense maker established in Kyoto in 1994. Its soft fragrances draw on the cultural heritage of Kyoto and on the seasonal landscapes and literary traditions of Japan.
