Mudle Crayons: Neutral Tones
In Jeju, a volcanic island located in South Korea, “mudle” is local dialect for a mound of volcanic stones in the field, a traditional ritual. This art of stacking can serve as inspiration for your own assembly of these unique crayons. Handmade of beeswax and mineral pigments in tones of grey and clay, they are a realistic representation of volcanic stone that can be used to write and draw. Made in South Korea, where the boundary between craft and necessity remains pleasantly blurred.
