Introduce a touch of sculptural artistry to your library with Lorraine Grouvel's handcrafted stoneware bookends. The set features two arched forms in matte white, each a study in textural contrast.
Grouvel's distinctive "Pincée" technique adorns the outer surfaces - a rugged, pinched texture that evokes weathered cliffsides. This raw exterior plays against the smooth, curved inner faces, creating a compelling visual dialogue.
Minimalist yet expressive, these pieces command attention whether cradling books or standing alone. Their organic silhouettes and handcrafted nuances bring a touch of the artist's studio to your shelf or tabletop, elevating the simple act of organizing books into a celebration of form and texture.
Grouvel, the Franco-Canadian ceramist behind Apollonie Céramique, began her journey with clay in 2014. Now based in Paris, she crafts stoneware and porcelain creations that embody a universe of sobering fragility and honest expression. Her work invites contemplation of the relationship between object and space, bringing a touch of Parisian atelier sensibility to each piece. We are the only stockist of these lyrical pieces in the US. See our entire collection here.
