The cup, wheel-thrown from speckled stoneware and marked with a pressed terracotta disk, holds pens, brushes, or scissors or doubles as a mug with the quiet authority of something made entirely by hand. The catchall, carved in a faceted form and lined in matte white glaze, is equally suited to paper clips, rings, or the small objects that collect at the edges of a day.
