FDB Møbler Danish Oak Apple Boxes

There's a particular Danish talent for taking something entirely utilitarian and refining it down to what it actually needs to be. These stackable oak storage boxes, built in five sizes, are a clean example of it — the form comes straight from the harvest crates Danes have used for generations, but stripped of anything extra: solid oak, open slats, honest joinery, nothing applied for effect. It's Danish design doing what it does best — proportion and material doing the work, heritage still legible underneath.

Designed by Monica Ritterband, an artist and sculptor with a Red Dot Design Award to her name, the set stacks and combines — five sizes that nest and layer to suit the space. Left untreated, the oak will pick up a little color and character with time, the kind of aging this design was built to wear well.
