Hatashikki 3-tier Wooden Containers: Mint/Yellow

$140.00

A color study you can store things in. This 3-tier wooden container stacks mint and yellow lacquer under one lid, each tier a single field of color with the castor aralia wood grain faintly visible beneath it. The shapes are straightforward, so the color carries the object. The food safe finish suits snacks and kitchen storage, and the three tiers keep jewelry and small objects sorted on a desk or shelf. A collaboration between Hatashikki and Mute Studio, hand turned in the Yamanaka Onsen lacquerware tradition and made to order for Wms&Co. in small batches.

Founded in Ishikawa in 1930 by Unomatsu Hata, Hatashikki is a family-run business now led by Hata Manabu, three generations into the craft, with their original handcraft wood and urushi lacquer techniques intact.
