Ronan Bouroullec: Triptyque
The first publication to reveal the intimate creative process of design visionary Ronan Bouroullec, where drawings, ceramics, and architectural concepts engage in quiet conversation across pages.
One of our favorite creative practitioners, Ronan Bouroullec moves between art and design with quiet intention. Working both independently and with his brother Erwan, he develops forms that speak to material and space. His drawing practice, begun in 2004, functions as a daily exploration where ideas drift between medium and scale. This routine, paired with his work in ceramics, shapes objects that consider both tactile presence and spatial relationships. Bouroullec's work, from furniture for Vitra and Hay to lighting for Flos and architectural interventions, carries traces of his drawn line into physical space—creating products that have become defining elements of contemporary interiors worldwide.
In 2023, Villa Noailles showcased Bouroullec's work across three exhibitions: "Daily Drawings," "Hands to Clay," and "Recent Productions." This triptych format reflected his creative methodology—focused on form, perspective, and visual arrangement. The book captures this threefold approach, revealing how Bouroullec's daily drawing practice connects to his ceramic vessels and architectural projects, including the Saint-Michel chapel renovation.
